Lisa Murphy is Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration/CFO of the Biotechnology Industry Organization in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Murphy is responsible for BIO’s finance/accounting, human resources, office administration and information technology areas. Ms. Murphy joined BIO in 1998 as Vice President, Finance & Administration/CFO and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration/CFO in 2005. Prior to joining BIO, Ms. Murphy was Controller at Oncormed, Inc., a Maryland biotechnology company and a member of BIO. Ms. Murphy has over 24 years of experience in the finance/accounting field working in private and public companies and the not-for-profit arena. She has over seventeen years of experience directing all accounting and human resources functions. And over eight years directing all information technology functions.
Ms. Murphy received her bachelor’s degree in business/accounting from Michigan State University. She is also a certified public accountant.
BIO represents more than 1,200 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations across the United States and 31 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of healthcare, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.
