Last year, stem cell advocate Robert Klein was named the 2010 Biotech Humanitarian Honoree. Who will be named this year's Honoree? The nomination window will be closing soon – do you know someone who is working to heal, fuel or feed the plant through biotechnology? Nominate a friend, colleague  or mentor today for the third annual Biotech Humanitarian Award before the nomination deadline, this Friday, April 15.

Through its search for Honorees, BIO's judges have examined scientists, researchers, academics, entrepreneurs, financiers, and philanthropists. BIO President and CEO Jim Greenwood noted, "Through the Biotech Humanitarian Award, we have an opportunity to highlight a true groundbreaker, someone who is using biotechnology to solve the world’s most pressing challenges and improve our everyday lives. I am consistently impressed by the level of men and women who are nominated, and look forward to participating as a judge this year."

The Biotech Humanitarian Award and the $10,000 prize will be bestowed on the Honoree during the 2011 BIO International Convention, in Washington, DC.
