Primary Purpose of the Position:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide analytic and web support to the Business Development Department primarily through the integration of marketing and information into overall business development strategy.

Candidate will support BIO’s business development and investor conferences as well as training programs (Business Development Basics, etc.) through market research, database and website maintenance, and general analytical support.

  • Maintain departmental marketing databases, updating contact information, tags, and queries for use in strategic targeted marketing.
  • Conduct primary and secondary market research to better understand the biotechnology industry’s needs from BIO. Engage in competitive intelligence analysis of investor and BD events in the life science industry.
  • Assist in creating internal business intelligence tools to track business metrics from BIO’s One-on-One partnering system. Create and maintain reports for regular reporting to senior management.
  • Utilize, update and maintain conference websites, including content, presentation and investor submission tools, and social media integration.
  • Assist onsite at BIO conferences in the area of logistics, company presentations, partnering, and marketing as needed.


  • Candidate must be computer literate (Word, Outlook) and have strong communications (verbal and written), organizational leadership skills, and a fondness for working within a group dynamic.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking ability.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Prior experience with .NET, Java, and SQL
  • Prior experience with website management, including CMS, HTML, and CSS.
  • Superior Excel/PowerPoint skills desired, including pivot tables, modeling functionality, and data presentation.
  • Experience working on event marketing a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry is a plus.
  • College degree.
