Hans Sauer, BIO’s associate general counsel for intellectual property, speaks with Professor Chris Holman, an associate professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, about the role of patents in a pathway for the approval of biosimilars.  The health care reform bill recently approved by the U.S. House of Representatives includes a provision to establish a pathway for biosimilars as does the health care reform bill currently pending in the Senate.
