Position Title: Sales Executive
Department: Conventions & Conferences
Reports to: Senior Sales Executive
Primary Purpose of the Position:
This position will increase exhibit, promotional branding & advertising sales through generation of leads and development and expansion of prospect lists and marketing opportunities, and will plan and conduct marketing campaigns to prospective exhibitors followed up by sales calls. The Sales Executive supports the Senior Sales Executive in handling international and domestic economic development groups and works closely with association membership and business development staff on Branding packages.
The Sales Executive will also work closely with exhibit operations staff to establish space assignment and procedures for the BIO International Convention and other Association events as needed.
The position will be responsible for conducting exhibit sales strategies, building the prospect sales database and conducting outbound sales campaigns. Position will have responsibility for contributing to sales forecasts and actuals.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding and knowledge of general integrated sales and marketing principles, demonstrated project and budget management skills. They will be an enthusiastic, creative self-starter who can multi-task and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment. They must be highly driven and results-oriented. They must possess strong oral, written and presentation skills.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Marketing preferred (equivalent experience will be considered); two years of proven sales experience, preferably exhibit sales; experience with trade show operations. Other requirements: excellent interpersonal communications, customer service, and presentation skills; project management and organizational skills; ability to lead a project team. Salary commensurate with experience.
