Prior to joining the Biotechnology Industry Organization in October 2005 as vice president, conventions and conferences, Robbi Lycett was president, Lycett Consulting, Inc., with 24 years in the meetings, convention and exhibition industry and has managed and produced meetings, events, conventions, and exhibitions of all sizes for association and independent organizers. Prior to starting Lycett Consulting over 7 years ago, she was vice president, CES for the Consumer Electronics Association. During her 6 years with CES, Ms. Lycett was responsible for the management, production, leadership, and strategic planning of the International CES. The International CES is one of the largest exhibitions in the world with over 1.4 million NSF of exhibition space and over 130,000 attendees. She has also been instrumental in the management and production of association meetings, conferences and conventions and has launched many new exhibitions and events. Ms. Lycett is an active member of the International Association for Exhibition Management (IAEM), and has served on various committees including the Nominating Committee, Foundation Fundraising Committee, chair of the Education Committee and is currently chair of the CEM Commission. She has been a speaker on several topics from training modules on how to write an RFP to selling your association-owned exhibition. She has served as a board member and chair of the Major American Trade Show Organizers (MATSO) and as an industry advisor to the Computer Event Marketing Association.
