Joe Skurla was named president of DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol LLC (DDCE) in July 2008. DDCE is dedicated to the development and commercialization of cellulosic ethanol. Bringing together two leaders in the field -- DuPont and Genencor, a division of Danisco -- DDCE leverages more than $140 million of investment and over 10 years of research and development to bring to market global, integrated cellulosic ethanol technology packages that utilize various non-food feedstocks. The company's mission includes accelerating development of commercial scale biorefineries, creating value for the renewable fuels and agricultural industries and leading the way toward a low-carbon economy.
Joe brings over 30 years of experience related to the oil refining and chemical industries. He most recently led the development of the DuPont Clean Technologies business. Under his leadership the business provided services and on-site technologies that deliver cleaner air and fuel capabilities to the oil and gas industry. Customers ranged from major integrated international oil companies to independent refiners throughout the world.
He is a member of the National Petrochemical Refiners Association. Joe is a graduate (Bachelor of Sciences, Chemical Engineering) of University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa. He currently resides in Wilmington, Del.
