James Newcomb is Managing Director for Research at Bio Economic Research Associates (bio-era™) a leading independent research and consulting firm on the economic and societal impacts of human induced change to biological systems. Mr. Newcomb has had a long and distinguished career as an analyst and independent research provider. He was the founding President and CEO of E SOURCE, a leading provider of research and advisory services to energy companies worldwide, and was the co-founder and Managing Director of the natural gas team and practice at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA). He is the author and co-author of numerous bio-era resports, including "Genome Synthesis and Design Futures: Implications for the US Economy", and bio-era's "Global Outlook for Biofuels". Mr. Newcomb holds an M.A. in Energy and Resources from UC Berkeley and a B.A. in economics from Harvard.
