Jack is the Senior Vice President, Research, and a co-founder of Amyris. Dr. Newman brings to Amyris over a decade of research in bacterial physiology and genetics. He has published in leading journals in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and co-authored the ground-breaking work that led to the technology of microbial terpene production. Dr. Newman received his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in the field of microbial physiology and gene regulation. Dr. Newman also holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
