(May 1, 2002) – Biotechnology companies from 12 countries will convene in Toronto to participate in the BIO 2002 International Biotechnology Convention & Exhibition’s fourth annual Business Forum. Of the 220 companies, 56 are Canadian. This full-scale, international investor and partnering forum offers investors and corporate partners the opportunity to learn about exciting new products and companies in health-care, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology. BIO 2002 will take place June 9-12 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, in Toronto, Ontario.
The 230 companies, listed below, will describe their technologies, products and business plans during 15-minute presentations, which will be grouped according to technology in three simultaneous tracks. In addition to the presentations, BIO has scheduled more than 1,000 separate meetings between featured companies and potential partners and investors.
“The Business Forum will provide an opportunity for investors and pharmaceutical executives to evaluate early-stage companies with promising new technologies and products, as well as mid- and late-stage companies that have products in advanced testing,” said Morrie Ruffin, BIO’s vice president for business development and emerging companies.
The 12 countries represented in the Business Forum are Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
