BIO Appoints Peter Pellerito Interim Vice President for State Government Relations & Alliance Development

Since 1995, Pellerito has served as an industry member representative of BIO&rsquo;s Federal Government Relations and State Government Relations Committees, as well as an economic development and university outreach consultant.</p>

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Tuesday, February 08, 2011) - The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) today announced Peter M. Pellerito has been appointed interim Vice President for State Government Relations and Alliance Development.

Pellerito has served as a consultant to BIO since 1995, and has written and contributed extensively to numerous bioscience economic policy publications. He has served as an industry member representative of BIO’s Federal Government Relations and State Government Relations Committees, as well as an economic development and university outreach consultant.

“Pete has been an invaluable resource to our organization since its early days, through which he has established a strong reputation for his industry knowledge and expertise among many state legislators across this nation,” said BIO President and CEO James Greenwood. “We are pleased to have his added council during this transitional period.”

Pellerito’s experience also includes senior government relations posts at the University of Michigan. He received a B.A from California State University and a M.A. from Michigan State University.
