BIO Expresses Condolences on Death of Racer Paul Dana

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 27, 2006) -- Biotechnology Industry Organization President & CEO Jim Greenwood released the following statement on the death of Indy Racing League Driver Paul Dana. Dana was scheduled to appear at the BIO 2006 Annual International Convention in Chicago on April 11 to answer questions about the Team Ethanol Indy Car and discuss racing with attendees.

“Our thoughts are with the family, friends and fans of Paul Dana, whose tragic death yesterday at the Homestead-Miami Speedway cut short a promising racing career.

“Dana stood at the forefront of the Indy Racing League as it prepares to race on 100 percent ethanol in 2007. We are grateful for his support of ethanol as an alternative fuel and we will greatly miss his leadership on this important issue.”
