Conference Program Announced, Early Bird Registration Open Through July 31

Washington, D.C. (July 11, 2012) – The BIO Livestock Biotech Summit announced its programming schedule for the September conference featuring three days of cross cutting discussions among industry, academic and government leaders.

The program slate will cover everything from the regulatory process for genetically engineered (GE) animals and public and private funding opportunities to the science and benefits of GE agricultural animals for both food and biomedical applications.

“Agricultural biotechnology has already been identified as key in helping to meet the challenges of healing, fueling and feeding a projected 9 billion people on earth by 2050,” said David Edwards, PhD, director of Animal Biotechnology at BIO. “The BIO Livestock Summit will focus on how we could use animal biotechnology to develop novel health care applications, provide more sustainable food animals and raise livestock that are more environmentally friendly.”
