WASHINGTON, D.C. (Saturday, May 01, 2010) The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), host of the annual BIO International Convention, released the following statement today regarding the keynote sessions at the 2010 BIO International Convention, running May 3-6, 2010 in Chicago, Ill. at McCormick Place:

“The 2010 BIO International Convention keynotes are open only to attendees with Full Convention or Full Daily Registration Access and special guests.  While we have opened the keynotes to a broader range of attendees on occasion during previous Conventions, it has generally been BIO’s policy to only allow full registrants to attend the keynote events.   Since there are thousands of individuals who participate in the conference not as full registrants - for example, exhibit staff, presenters and media - we cannot make exceptions in a fair and equitable manner.  We are providing alternate programming for members of the media.”
