Biotechnology Industry Organization Extends Agreement with VWR International, LLC

Washington, D.C. (October 18, 2012) – The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) has extended its agreement for over five years with VWR International, LLC, a global distributor of laboratory supplies, equipment, chemicals and services for the life sciences industry. Now in its 15th year, more than 1,400 biotechnology companies nationwide utilize this program which provides member-only benefits.

“Through our agreement with VWR, BIO has forged a strong relationship with one of the industry’s leading laboratory supply and distribution companies. This relationship is particularly important for our member companies as it offers over a million products from thousands of manufacturers,” said Alan Eisenberg, executive vice president, Emerging Companies and Business Development, BIO.

By leveraging the large group spend of BIO members and participating state and regional biotech associations, VWR provides solutions that bring value to the members across its entire product offering. To date, 38state and regional biotech associations endorse this program, offering these benefits to their members. Since 2000, the number of companies participating in the program has grown 24% on average each year, as more and more members find true value in VWR’s offering.
