Biotechnology: Old Texas Money Fuels High-Tech "Gushers"

WASHINGTON, D.C.,..Carl Feldbaum, president of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) will be a key speaker at a Texas panel that will discuss industry trends and an economic survey of the healthcare and bioscience industries in Texas, May 15, from 8-9 a.m. (CT). The panel will be held at the offices of KPMG Peat Marwick, 700 Louisiana, Houston, Texas.

The panel discussion will be broadcast live over the Internet at Audionet. To join the conference live via the Internet, reporters need: minimum 486 processor/66 mhz, 8 mb RAM, 14.4 modem, Real Audio Software, sound card, speakers and an internet connection.

Hosted by BIO, Texas Healthcare and Bioscience Institute (THBI), PRNewswire and Audionet, panelists will discuss the economic impact of Texas' expanding biotechnology industry. They will offer potential story ideas and opportunities to learn more about biotechnology and its financial impact in health care, agriculture, and environmental biotechnology.
