San Diego (June 22, 2001) - The main press room for BIO 2001 opens tomorrow Saturday, June 23 at the San Diego Convention Center. From today through Wednesday, June 27, members of the press can reach BIO communications staff members by calling one of the following numbers:

On-site registration will open Saturday, June 23 at 9 a.m. Reporters and editors working full-time for print, broadcast or Internet news organizations must present picture identification from their employer to register on-site at the BIO 2001 press registration desk. Without proper, approved credentials media registration will be denied. The final deadline for freelance registration was June 1, 2001. Freelance registrations will not be accepted onsite.

Hosted by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the BIO 2001 International Biotechnology Convention & Exhibition is the world’‘s largest biotechnology event. The convention runs from June 24 through June 27. For details, visit the BIO 2001 Newsroom Web site at www.bio.org.
