TORONTO (June 7, 2002) – The BIO 2002 press room opens tomorrow, Saturday, June 8 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. From today through Wednesday, June 12, members of the press can reach BIO communications staff at:

On-site registration will begin Saturday, June 8. Media registrants must present valid press credentials with photo identification. The deadline for freelance journalists and web-based publications has passed and they will not be admitted.

BIO 2002, hosted by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), is the world’s largest biotechnology gathering with more than 14,000 industry leaders expected to attend. The conference will feature six plenary events, and more than 150 sessions and symposia, with 800 speakers covering 18 program tracks.

BIO represents more than 1,000 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations in all 50 U.S. states and 33 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of health-care, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.
