In addition to Wednesday’s Keynote, the 2015 BIO International Convention will feature an extensive Digital Health Zone on the exhibit floor to be sponsored by Georgia, USA and Johnson & Johnson as well as an expanded Digital Health Track of educational programming. In partnership with the Wireless-Life Sciences Alliance, the Digital Health program will explore the intersection of digital health, biotech and pharma. Industry thought leaders, stakeholders and innovators will highlight digital health’s role in drug development, clinical trials, medication compliance, prescribable apps, new business models, big data and much more. The Digital Health Zone will feature an “App” Bar where presenters will showcase their technology and participate in partnering meetings with biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

As part of the Digital Health program, BIO is pleased to present the Idea Design Studio, hosted by MIT H@cking Medicine, on Thursday, June 18. The MIT Hacking Medicine Idea Design Studio will be a 4-hour experience that takes participants from an idea to actionable next-steps for starting a Digital Health venture. Digital Health, which can include technology as diverse as on-body sensors, mobile apps, or web portals, has been touted as a way for pharma companies to become more relevant in healthcare, as well as a path for reaching the true potential of personalized medicine.
