Washington, D.C. (January 23, 2013) – The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announced that Ken Lisaius has been named Vice President of Communications.
Lisaius has served as BIO's Senior Advisor and Director of Public Affairs since 2011 and has been BIO's Acting Vice President of Communications since mid-August.
"We are pleased to have Ken Lisaius lead BIO's efforts as Vice President of Communications. He has done an outstanding job with BIO's branding campaign, and has impressed me and members of our board with his work," said BIO President & CEO Jim Greenwood. "With his background in government service, political campaigns, public affairs and advising corporate clients, Ken brings a wealth of valuable experience to BIO and our member companies."
Prior to joining BIO, Lisaius held senior positions with Brightline Media and VOX Global. From 2001 to 2006 Mr. Lisaius held several positions at the White House, including Special Assistant to the President and Deputy White House Press Secretary. In addition, he is a veteran of Presidential and Congressional political campaigns.
Lisaius, a graduate of Washington State University, lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife Jennifer and their daughters, Virginia and Claire.
