Lars Hansen is President of Novozymes North America serving at the North American headquarters located in Franklinton, North Carolina since February 2008.
Hansen joined Novozymes in 1990 as a production planner in the Enzyme Production division in Copenhagen, Denmark. Over the next eight years he worked in various capacities for the Production, Sales, Marketing and R&D departments. Hansen then gained international experience from leadership assignments as Executive Assistant to the CEO in Denmark, Sales and Marketing Director in China, Marketing Director for Southeast Asia and India (based in Malaysia), and President of Novozymes Japan.
Firmly committed to sustainability development, Lars serves as co-chair on the Committee for Sustainability and Climate Change in the Biotechnology Industry Organization, Industrial and Environmental division.
He holds a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, a M.A. in Journalism from NYU, and a B.A. in Foreign Trade from Copenhagen Business School. Lars, a Danish national, is married with three children.
