Ken Lisaius

Senior Vice President, Communications

Ken Lisaius is BIO’s Senior Vice President of Communications.  Mr. Lisaius joined BIO in January of 2011 as Senior Advisor and Director of Public Affairs. As Senior Vice President, he leads all communications operations for the organization.  Prior to joining BIO, he was a senior-level public affairs counselor based in Washington, DC and worked with a diverse set of clients, both domestic and foreign, providing senior counsel and strategic communications advice. Over his career, he has advised Fortune 500 companies, industry trade associations, Members of Congress and the President of the United States.

An experienced counselor in advanced media relations, crisis communications, message development and public affairs strategies – Mr. Lisaius has appeared regularly on cable television news programs to deliver commentary on news of the day and world events.

Mr. Lisaius served as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy White House Press Secretary. As Deputy Press Secretary, he managed a portfolio that included economic, healthcare, social policy, labor and trade issues – as well as political affairs matters. Mr. Lisaius also served as the Deputy Director of the White House Office of Media Affairs.

A veteran of both Congressional and Presidential campaigns, Mr. Lisaius previously served as Press Secretary to former U.S. Representative George R. Nethercutt, Jr.

A graduate of Washington State University, Mr. Lisaius enjoys spending time with his family, travel, reading and college football. He lives with his wife Jennifer and their daughters Virginia Grace and Claire in Alexandria, Virginia.
