#BIOWC19 | BIO Now Accepting Proposals for New Programming at 2019 World Congress in Des Moines
When writing about the mid-western region of the United States – states whose borders help shape the trajectory of the Mississippi River - Mark Twain coined it as the “Body of the Nation.” He continued, “All the other parts are but members, important in themselves, yet more important in their relations to this.”
Twain’s words on the region often referred to as “America’s Heartland” have never been truer. States like Iowa are driving innovation in biotechnology across the nation, from the farms that grow the crops to produce fuel and bio-based products, to the biorefineries developing new, advanced biofuels to reduce environmental impact and help the nation secure energy independence.
So, to get back to the roots of industrial biotechnology (pun intended), the 2019 BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology is heading to the American Midwest. The world’s largest conference on industrial biotechnology will take place at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa, July 8-11, 2019.
BIO is excited to host the event in a region where we can showcase where so many biotechnology innovations begin or are developed. Especially Iowa, which leads the nation in production of critical feedstocks, like corn and soybeans, and leads the nation in ethanol production, creating nearly 30 percent of all American ethanol.
And this year’s World Congress will feature new programming tracks to highlight the unique role this region plays in advancing the bio-based economy.
BIO is now accepting proposals for sessions at #BIOWC19. To submit a session for any of the following new programming tracks, click here. For more information about any of the new program tracks, click on the track title below.
