Governor Quinn Invites Biotech Professionals to Chicago

Governor Pat Quinn has long been a champion of the bioscience industry - both for its promise to help solve the world’s most pressing problems and as a means of elevating the economic development prospects for his state.

The Governor has consistently championed educational reform, entrepreneurship, intellectual property protection, and industry regulation based on rigorous science. That is why he was named BIO's Governor of the Year in 2011.

We are furthermore honored that he has made showcasing the Midwest through the BIO International Convention in Chicago a key priority.

With all that in mind, I was particularly please to see that he issued the following letter of invitation to the upcoming 2013 BIO International Convention in Chicago:

World Biotechnology Professionals:

On behalf of the citizens of the great State of Illinois, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the 2013 BIO International Convention in Chicago, April 22 - 25.

The 2013 BIO International Convention is the global event for biotechnology. The convention will draw more than 16,000 biotechnology CEOs, scientists and investors from around the world to learn about emerging bioscience technologies, to network with their peers, and to showcase global business opportunities.

The State of Illinois has participated in the annual BIO convention each year since 2003 and has found BIO is a great place to do business and make connections. This year, Illinois is proud to host the 20th annual BIO International Convention for the third time.  We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you as we showcase the many ways in which Illinois and the Midwest States are ready to help you create the next twenty years worth of biotech breakthroughs to heal, fuel and feed the world.
