New Year, New Resolutions: Kickstart Your Career with the BIO International Convention

January 15, 2013
With 2012 behind us and 2013 well under way, now is the time to re-establish professional goals for a prosperous year. BIO's events serve as a professional networker's playground and our flagship event, the BIO International Convention is a little more than 100 days away. If your 2013 to-do list includes professional enrichment and business development, the BIO International Convention is the place to be in April.

Here a few tips to help kick start your New Year and new resolutions.

  • Expand your professional network: In business, who you know can often be as important as what you know. Now is the time to develop a plan for how you will identify and establish new business connections in 2013.

    • It's easy to make connections through 1x1 Partnering and networking events at the 2013 BIO International Convention – more than 16,500 biotech professionals representing 65 countries participate in the event.

  • Learn more about issues that affect you and/or your business: Whether it's discussing policy or regulatory concerns, gaining insight on the financial and investment climate ahead, or investigating topics that represent new business opportunities (or potential obstacles)…set aside time to learn more about issues that could impact your business in 2013 and beyond.

  • Dedicate time to professional development: The importance of continuing education cannot be overstated. The industry is constantly changing and the more informed you are, the more successful you'll be.

    • Learn more about BIO's educational program including courses approved for CLE, CLP and RTTP (Registered Tech Transfer Professional) credits plus the BIO Career Fair at

  • Save time and money: You would have to travel the globe and attend several biotech events to equal the global connections you'll make at the BIO International Convention. Save time and money and let BIO bring business to you.

    • There is no better time to register. Save up to 30 percent by registering before March 14th.

  • Whenever possible, "pay it forward": The New Year is a time for reflection and resolution. As you look back at 2012, think about your career path and consider colleagues that have helped you grow and advance. The biotech industry is dedicated to improving the lives of others and as individuals; there is much we can do to help each other within our own community. Resolve to take some time this year to mentor a junior colleague; it's a small investment that often pays big dividends.
