BIO is pleased to announce that Rachel Haurwitz, PhD, CEO of Caribou Biosciences, will deliver a “fireside chat” at the October 19th plenary lunch on the latest developments of her company in the CRISPR-Cas field.

Beyond the corporate presentations and panel debates on trends in the biotech market space, the conference will also facilitate meetings between companies and prospective investors. They will be arranged through BIO’s One-on-One™ partnering system that allows companies and investors to create company profiles, publish their availability and then send and receive meeting requests. BIO schedules all the meetings. It’s efficient, intuitive and even has a mobile app! More than 1,700 partnering meetings took place at last year’s event.

For a second year, BIO will welcome the SPARK Showcase Event. Emanating from Stanford School of Medicine, SPARK is a partnership between university and industry which works to translate academic discoveries into drugs or diagnostics that address clinical needs. The showcase event will offer academic researchers in the SPARK network to present the most promising new start-ups that are ready for partnering or venture funding.
