Manager, Exhibits and Sales Systems

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The Manager Exhibits and Sales Systems will be responsible for operations and sales systems management within the Sales & Sponsorship Team at BIO. Main responsibilities will include being the point person for several sales tech systems such as Salesforce, exhibit floor management software (Map Your Show), the association management system (Fonteva), project management software, and online advertising platforms. He or she will be responsible for exhibitor and advertising customer service, space selection process and set up, as well as lead distribution and sales analytics across BIO’s portfolio of events. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and ability to succeed in a deadline-driven work environment are essential. Experience in event management and/or sales is a plus. This position works across all departments within BIO to ensure proper execution of the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to onsite logistics to post-event analysis.


Manager, Office Operations

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Managing Director of Facilities/Office Operations with the day to day office responsibilities and supervision of operations support staff. This includes development, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures for BIO’s office operations.


Director, Diversity and Inclusion

Primary Purpose of the Position:

BIO is the world's largest trade association representing biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations across the United States and in more than 30 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of innovative healthcare, and agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products. BIO also produces the BIO International Convention, the world’s largest gathering of the biotechnology industry, along with industry-leading investor and partnering meetings held around the world.

The Director, Diversity and Inclusion, will provide leadership and drive change through the development and implementation of strategic diversity and inclusion initiatives in the biotechnology and life sciences industry and within BIO. The position will work in coordination with the BIO Workforce Development, Diversity & Inclusion (WDDI) Committee and BIO senior staff.

This position is required to provide and implement solutions to complex diversity and inclusion challenges, deliver expert advice and guidance and develop and implement strategic plans and action goals. This position is required to be proactive and keep abreast with developments in diversity and inclusion across the biotechnology sector and any changes in relevant legislation, keeping up to date with local and national initiatives. Also, this position will coordinate with BIO HR to ensure that BIO is promoting and providing a diverse and inclusive work environment.


Director, Regulatory Affairs

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The Director will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for assisting in developing policy and regulatory options for the IES Governing Board, working groups, and committees that primarily focus on federal, state, and international policy and regulations impacting industrial biotechnology. The Director will staff IES working group(s), committee(s) and IES board level committees as needed.


Vice President, External Relations

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The Vice President, External Relations is responsible for leading and developing strategy, and overseeing implementation of BIO’s state affiliate network, third-party engagement and grassroots/grasstops advocacy activities. This position will also be the Executive Director, Council of State Biotechnology Associations (CSBA).

Inspire, develop, and lead a dynamic External Relations team that strategically and proactively engages BIO’s network of state affiliates, third-party stakeholders, and grassroots/grasstops influencers on issues pertaining to the health care, agriculture, emerging companies, and industrial & environmental sections at BIO.
