For many patients with blood cancers and serious blood disorders, bone marrow transplant can be a curative treatment option. But many patients simply don’t have that option: an estimated 40 percent of patients who are eligible for a transplant never receive one, including because they aren’t able to find a matched donor. And even those who do receive transplant can suffer from serious complications. Inspired by the belief that patients deserve better, leaders in the transplant field are pioneering new treatment approaches with the potential to help more patients reach a cure.
