Christopher D. Bahl, MS, PhD came to the Institute for Protein Innovation (IPI) following postdoctoral studies with David Baker, PhD at the University of Washington. There, he successfully developed computational design methods to create constrained peptides, molecules that meld the best attributes of antibodies and small molecules into powerful research tools and promising biologic drugs. At IPI, Chris leads the Protein Design Laboratory. His group combines computational protein modeling and design with automated high-throughput laboratory science. They focus on developing new technologies to accelerate drug discovery, improving the properties of biologic drugs, and creating novel platform technologies.
