Dorn Carranza, MBA, PhD

Hadley, Massachusetts, United States
I currently manage a portfolio of programs and federally-funded cooperative agreements aimed to boost research, innovation and entrepreneurship in the USA. Previously, I led seed investments, grants and commercialization programs focused on bringing scientific discoveries and technologies into the marketplace, including the design and deployment of a flagship angel-investment and corporate-partnership readiness program for science & technology-based startups. My technical training includes a PhD in Bio-Organic Chemistry, B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, MBA in Strategy, and fellowship at Merck KGaA.

I do this with a unique international, science and engineering, cross-disciplinary, cross-sector background and 15+ years of professional experience focused on: innovation process and programs management; science and technology commercialization; startup incubation and acceleration; angel investing and corporate venture; product management; business development

As a Hispanic scientist-turned-innovation professional, I am a speaker, mentor and national advocate for diversity, inclusion, and broadening participation of people of color in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and the innovation economy.
