The BIO Business Forum is the exclusive hub of partnering activity for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, academic research institutions, and investors from around the world to gather and discuss strategic opportunities in one-on-one meetings and company presentations.
Exhibitor Booth Partnering is powered by BIO One-on-One Partnering, but meetings are held in exhibitor booths.
To add partnering, access your existing registration or be sure to add it during the registration process.
No, you do not, coupon codes are provided to sponsoring organizations and their guests and attendees. Most attendees will not have a coupon code.
No, the BIO International Convention is a business and educational convention and we do not host spouse social events. If you wish to bring your spouse to the exhibit hall or at any other registration level, they would be entitled to receive the same rate you were entitled. We do not have lower or special guest or spouse rates.
No, not exactly. Of course we hope that many persons from your organization will be able to attend but, each person’s registration must be handled individually because of the unique answers to specific demographic questions required and payment processing regulations.
Sessions are open to attendees with Convention Access or Business Forum Passes. You do not need to reserve your seat or sign up for any of the breakout sessions.
Individual reception tickets are not offered. In order to attend the Monday or Wednesday Evening Receptions, you will need to have a Business Forum Pass or a Convention Access Pass. Those holding an Exhibition Pass will not be able to purchase reception tickets.
The Keynote Sessions are included with BIO Business Forum and Convention Access Passes. Keynote Session seats are not available for purchase as an individual or add-on event.
During the registration process, at the end, you will be able to indicate that you wish to receive an electronic invoice. Follow the instructions on the invoice to complete the payment by check. Please include your registration identification number on the check or include a copy of the invoice in your envelope.

You should contact the BIO International Convention team at firstname.lastname@example.org and after verification from the BIO Membership department, the proper adjustment will be made to your record and a refund will be issued. However, if you paid by check or wire transfer, a W-9 (W-8BEN for International guests) will be required in order to process the refund.
All confirmations are HTML (Web) pages at the conclusion of your registration and are printable. Additionally, an email confirmation is sent immediately following the completion of online registration. If you have not received a confirmation, please check your spam or junk mail folder.
If you are an exhibitor working in your booth, your “Key Contact” will register you, or will provide you with registration instructions. You should ask the local person who is managing your booth how he or she is handling the process.
Yes, someone from your company must purchase the BIO Business Forum Pass in order for your company to present.
No. You can apply to present before you register for the Convention, or vice-versa. As long as someone from your company registers for the BIO Business Forum pass at some point, your company can present.
Yes. In addition to purchasing your registration package, presenting companies must pay a presentation fee. For BIO 2020, the rates are $1,520 for BIO Members and $1,900 for Non-Members, Academics, or Government. View all registration prices here.
Giving a company presentation is a great way to reach a global audience, increase your visibility in the biotech industry, and get more BIO One-on-One Partnering meetings with investors and executives. Presenting companies tend to receive more than twice the amount of meeting requests than non-presenting companies, and end up scheduling close to twice as many meetings!
Yes! BIO runs the Buzz of BIO competition each year. Beginning in Spring 2020, companies can enter to win free registration and a free company presentation in the BIO Business Forum. The winner is decided by voters who believe the company to be the most interesting and innovative.
If your company is an early stage start up, BIO also runs the Start-Up Stadium, which provides start-up companies with the opportunity to engage key members of the investment community, venture philanthropy groups, strategic partners, and non-dilutive capital.
Company Presentations are open to all 17,000+ BIO International Convention attendees. Company Presentation Theaters are located on the exhibit floor, adjacent to the heavily trafficked and popular BIO Business Forum.
No. While attendees of any registration type can enter the presentation, partnering meetings can only be schedule with attendees who have a BIO Business Forum pass or exhibitor booth partnering.
Company Presentation Theaters are located in the main exhibition, adjacent to the Business Forum.
The 2020 BIO International Convention will be held at the San Diego Convention Center. The address of the venue is 111 West Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. Most events will be held at the convention center.
The convention dates are Monday - Thursday, June 8 - 11, 2020. Partnering and Education days are Monday - Thursday, and Exhibition days are Tuesday - Thursday.
Yes, in the interest of safety and injury prevention, anyone under 18 years of age (infants included) will not be permitted in the exhibit hall during move-in and move-out (and the Convention Center may have more stringent age requirements, which Show Management will honor); and, anyone under 21 years of age will not be permitted in the exhibit hall during the Exhibition (exceptions must be in writing by Show Management). Show Management reserves the right to require proof of age prior to admission to the Exhibition.

The dress code for the BIO International Convention is professional business attire.

Yes, shuttle buses from all official BIO International Convention hotels not considered to be within walking distance will be available. Additionally, for those hotels within walking distance, there will be disability transportation service upon request. All service begins on Monday afternoon. The detailed schedule will be posted about 3 weeks before the Convention begins.
Yes. For the 2020 BIO International Convention, we have over 27 hotel options to choose from that are conveniently located near the San Diego Convention Center. Through onPeak we're able to offer you convenient and affordable options for your trip to 2020 BIO International Convention.
Please note: onPeak is the only official housing company associated with the 2020 BIO International Convention. While other hotel resellers may contact you offering housing for your trip, they are not endorsed by or affiliated with the show and entering into financial agreements with such companies can have costly consequences.

ESTA is an automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program. The ESTA application collects the same information collected on Form I-94W. ESTA applications may be submitted anytime prior to travel, though it is recommended travelers apply when you begin preparing your travel plans.
Act early! All visa applicants are advised to apply for their visa as soon as travel to the United States is contemplated, and not later than 3-4 months in advance. For your convenience, you can generate a visa invitation letter populated with your information to confirm your participation and travel to the BIO International Convention.
Upon written request, BIO will provide a full and complete refunds of your paid registration if we receive government instructions restricting or prohibiting travel as a direct result of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Contact email@example.com with additional question or to request a refund.
As it relates to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), BIO will address concerns of sponsors on a case by case basis with considerations given first to the safety and well-being of our attendees, sponsors, partners and staff; then the regulations that govern the specific sponsorship. BIO is monitoring news about COVID-19 daily and taking into account the impact it is having on the regions represented in the BIO Exhibition.
