In oncology, precision medicine is leading a paradigm shift away from a “one size fits all” mentality by delivering the right drug to the right patient. Concurrently, matching patients to the right therapy remains a challenge in other fields – impacting clinical trial development and patient care. New technologies are starting to make an impact in bringing this precision medicine promise to fields like neuroscience, cardiology, and has even demonstrated traction in certain orphan or rare diseases. In this session, cross-industry panelists will discuss the promise for these new approaches in therapeutic development and the technologies enabling them. At the same time, moving patient care in new directions is not easy – and the panelists will discuss challenges they face and anticipate in moving new fields into precision medicine.
