The world is witnessing a full globalization of the economy with a growing awareness that key world challenges require global solutions and the realization that innovation in biotechnology and digital solutions have a transformative societal impact. With political changes across the continent and with the European Commission and European Parliament changeover this year, now is the time for a renewed focus and strategy to fuel the growth of the European biotech sector. What steps do European countries need to take to make the “old” continent a global frontrunner in life sciences and biotechnology?
