Conducting a successful clinical trial for orphan and rare diseases presents unique challenges for trial sponsors and site coordinators. In addition to a small eligible population, trial participants are frequently very ill or have cognitive or mobile impairments, while trial sites are often dispersed across the globe. In an engaging session, a diverse panel of industry experts will discuss how the patient experience impacts trial outcomes and strategies for addressing practical and emotional barriers to participation. This session will feature the first public discussion of findings from a recent study designed to explore the opinions and behaviors of patients and caregivers participating in rare disease clinical trials. Gain insights from key clinical trial industry stakeholders throughout this interactive panel.
