Research universities are unparalleled generators of scientific knowledge and potentially impactful technologic innovation. Unfortunately, the conversion of invention to useful product is fraught with inefficiencies and disconnects, leaving many promising university-held innovations to languish for lack of mechanisms and resources that would adequately de-risk them for further investment and development. Panelists will share effective models, resources, and best practices for bridging the technical, cultural, and financial challenges associated with translating commercially promising academic science in advance of licensing, investment, or partnership.
