Texas Biomedical Research Institute is pioneering and sharing scientific breakthroughs to protect our global community from the threat of infectious diseases, with an 80-year history of success that includes work on the first COVID-19 vaccine and therapies, first Ebola treatment, and first Hepatitis-C therapy.

TX Biomed is a private, independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit biomedical research institute with basic, translational, in vitro and in vivo research expertise and capabilities in many disease study areas.

We have a unique combination of resources on one campus to offer innovative partnerships:

3 Program Areas - Host-Pathogen Interactions (HPI), Disease Intervention & Prevention (DIP), Population Health (PH).

Scientific core facilities - biology, molecular, microscopy, and vivarium.

High containment laboratories - ABSL2 and maximum containment laboratories - ABSL3, ABSL4.

1 of 7 US primate centers, the Southwest National Primate Research Center.
