4:15 PM - 5:15 PM (PDT), Wednesday, June 15, 2022

The rapid growth of life sciences innovation over the past half century has been matched by major changes in the “business of biotech.”  This panel discussion, hosted by the Science History Institute and featuring biotech industry luminaries such as Ivor Royston, Mary Tanner, and Stan Cohen, will explore and share stories of how biotech enterprises have evolved over time.  Our panelists will discuss significant changes in how the science and business of biotech interact, how biotech companies have been formed, have attracted financial and human capital, and been managed since the 1970s.  Participants will consider what this history might tell us about the future of the biotech enterprise in the 21st century.
