Building Vaccine Manufacturing Capacity in Africa

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for more geographic diversity in the production capabilities for vaccines for both routine immunization and pandemic response.  Multiple strategies for expanding manufacturing capacity are currently underway on the continent with the goal of supplying routine immunizations across the African countries and increasing resilience.  This panel will discuss the manufacturing and logistical aspects of growing manufacturing capacity in Africa, including the regulatory infrastructure, workforce development and sustainability.
