A Pioneer in Aging Research, A Voice for Gender Equality, and A Pulitzer Prize-Winning Author Headline ‘BIO Unbound’. Laura Deming, Dr. Alaa Murabit, and Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee will bring their inspiring and personal stories through TED-style talks, as part of the ‘BIO Unbound’ series, hosted by Dr. Kafui Dzirasa, Associate Professor, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Duke University.

Laura Deming works on ending aging and extending a healthy human lifespan. As founder of The Longevity Fund, she supports companies working on therapeutic breakthroughs for age-related diseases.

Dr. Alaa Murabit will shine a light on how gender inequality in the biotechnology industry affects disparities in healthcare. Dr. Muabit was recently named one of the 100 Most Influential Women in History by the Canadian government. She founded CO-AGENCY, an accelerator for emerging women’s leadership in security, peacebuilding, and policy.

Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee, physician, biologist, and author, and BIO’s President and CEO Dr. Michelle McMurry-Heath will wrap up the ‘BIO Unbound’ series with a session titled “Limit Science Less” on the recent unprecedented breakthroughs of the scientific community and the intersection of science and social justice.
