Berrett Stradford

Berrett Stradford serves as the Director of External Relations for BIO. In this role, she works closely with our Council of State Bioscience Associations. Additionally, Berrett serves as the alliance liaison for our science and regulatory team to ensure we are working closely with the patient advocacy community on currently regulatory issues.
Before coming to BIO, Berrett was the Director, External Affairs for Friends of Cancer Research (Friends) for 7 years. In this role, Berrett led external engagement and alliance development with key partners from every healthcare sector to help Friends’ advance science, policy, and regulation that speeds life-saving treatments to patients.
Prior to joining Friends, Berrett was the Development and External Relations Manager at Critical Path Institute (C-Path) in Tucson, Arizona. Working with the Vice President of Development she executed the creation of the Critical Path Foundation. In this role she partnered with C-Path’s leadership team to foster external relationships with individuals, academia, industry, and government to support the organizations multiple scientific consortia and their efforts in creating safe and effective drug development tools.
Berrett began her career in health care at the University of Arizona Health Network (UAHN, now Banner) in government relations. Her primary focus included legislative affairs and special projects across an integrated health system. This role was integral to UAHN during numerous changes in Arizona’s Medicaid program and the merging and rebranding of two hospitals.
Berrett is originally from New Mexico which inspires her affinity for open spaces and warm weather. She holds a BA and MPA from New Mexico State University.
