Cynthia Cheatham is Director, Industry Research and Education at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization. She works with advisory committee members and leaders in the industry to create programming for business development professionals, healthcare executives, investors, and patients. Her work also includes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives such as the annual Measuring Diversity in Biotech Industry report. She is a graduate of Washington and Lee University with a B.A. in Politics and Spanish. She then returned to her hometown of Washington, D.C., and received an M.A. from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and worked in politics and human rights. Prior to BIO, Cynthia held several roles at the Society for Neuroscience including management of the Neuroscience Scholars Program, a career development program for underrepresented graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
