Sara Brown is the Director of Government Affairs for Prevent Blindness, a role she has held since April 2017. Prior to her current role, Sara worked with a boutique public affairs firm where she managed communications projects for the Defense Health Agency to promote their work on combat-related psychological health and traumatic brain injury. Sara has also represented the legislative and regulatory interests of medical group practice managers, including Medicare provider payment policy, as an Associate Director, Government Affairs with the Medical Group Management Association. She began her career by working with two Members of the U.S. Senate for 6 years in both their state and Washington, DC offices. A Nebraska native, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Walden University in 2011.
