BIO Announces Call for Paper and Panel Submissions for 2008 World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 29, 2007) - The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) invites leaders from biotechnology, chemical and agricultural industries to submit proposals for panels and individual papers for the 2008 World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing . This dynamic three day event will be held April 27-30, 2008 at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.


Key thought leaders from the biotechnology industry, academia, and science community are invited to submit proposals.
  The call for papers and panels deadline is December 12, 2007.

The fifth annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing is the only conference dedicated solely to industrial biotechnology and the most recent advancements in the field. 

Program tracks include:

1.) Biofuels and Bioenergy (ethanol, cellulosic ethanol, biodiesel, microbial fuel cells, advanced biofuels, energy from algae etc.)

2.) Feedstocks (use of agricultural and forestry residues, new energy crops, feedstock collection, pre-processing, cell wall modification, etc.)

3.) Chemicals and Biomaterials (biopolymers, renewable chemical platforms, fine chemicals from biomass, and other chemical platforms)

4.) Consumer Manufacturing and Bioprocessing (industrial biotech for foods, flavorings, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, health and nutrition, detergents; and novel applications in nano-biotech, mineral recovery, etc.)

5.) Business Development, Infrastructure and Public Policy (business models, financing, policies for developing biobased economies, intellectual property issues, carbon markets, etc.)

 

The 2008 World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing will be co-hosted by the National Agricultural Biotechnology Council.
