BIO Extends Deadline on Call for Papers for 2014 Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy

The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) has officially extended its Call for Papers deadline to <strong>August 20, 2014</strong> for the 2014 Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy. &nbsp;</p>

Washington, D.C. (August 1, 2014) – The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) has officially extended its Call for Papers deadline to August 20, 2014 for the 2014 Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy.  Leaders from the biotechnology, chemical and agricultural industries are encouraged to submit proposals and abstracts for panels, individual papers and poster presentations in any of the five program tracks listed below.  This unique conference will be held December 7-9, 2014 in San Diego at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter. 

Individuals may also submit a single proposal for a 15-minute presentation or 3-4 person panel in any of these program tracks:

·         Advanced Biofuels and Biorefinery Platforms

·         Feedstock Production and Utilization

·         Renewable Chemical Platforms

·         Synthetic Biology, Algae and Marine Biotech

·         Technical and Research Papers

Poster presentations will be displayed at the Poster Session on Monday, December 8, 2014. Poster presenters must attend the session and be available to discuss their research.

The application form to submit papers, panels and posters is available online.  The deadline for submitting panel and paper abstracts is now August 20, 2014. The deadline for submitting poster abstracts is still October 15, 2014. BIO will officially announce its program for this year’s Pacific Rim Summit in early September 2014. 

Now in its ninth year, the Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy will address the latest issues in industrial biotechnology, including algae, advanced biofuels, biopolymers and bioplastics, renewable chemicals, dedicated energy crops, green chemistry, and synthetic biology.
