BIO Issues Call for Sessions for 2012 BIO International Convention

 WASHINGTON, DC – (August 22, 2011) - The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) invites biotechnology industry experts, policy leaders, analysts, academics and other thought leaders to submit proposals for breakout sessions at the 2012 BIO International Convention, the global event for biotechnology, to be held June 18-21, 2012 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, MA.

Speakers and session moderator’s benefits abound at the BIO International Convention. Benefits include a global platform to increase visibility and recognition, networking with an influential audience and the opportunity to share expertise and collaboration ideas with others. In addition, speakers and session moderators will receive a complimentary registration on the day of their session and the option to expand their complimentary registration to a full registration for a discounted rate. To highlight the international scale of the Convention, many of the sessions incorporate international experts. The call for the International Case Studies will open October 3rd and close October 28th, 2011. 

Yet another chance to capitalize on the diverse, global audience that gathers for Convention is the BIO Business Forum company presentation program. These company presentations are open to all attendees and allow presenters to spotlight and pitch their company to investors, analysts, policy makers, business development executives and press. The BIO International Convention will highlight the latest trends and the newest opportunities for executives, investors, scientists, policy leaders, and media from around the world. Speakers at the sessions will share breakthroughs in medicine, diagnostics, the environment, energy production, business operations, financing, partnerships, policy issues and food and agriculture.

The Convention will feature more than 125 breakout sessions in 13 educational session tracks.  Tracks will cover a wide variety of relevant topics - from healthcare, the environment, food and agriculture, to industrial and other areas that are pertinent to the biotechnology industry

Tracks and topics are available now on http://convention.bio.org.  The online application process opens on Friday, August 26th and closes on Friday, September 30th, 2011 at 5:00 pm EST. All submissions received are peer-reviewed by the Convention Program Committee made up of global industry professionals, editors from major publications and BIO staff. Applicants will be notified of the status of their session proposal by November 30th.
 

The BIO International Convention is the largest global event for the biotechnology industry, offering networking and partnering opportunities.
