BIO Mourns Loss of Industry Leader

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Friday, December 17, 2010) - Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) President and CEO Jim Greenwood released the following statement regarding the death of Frank Baldino, Jr., Ph.D.:

“BIO mourns the loss of Frank Baldino, the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cephalon.  Frank was an early and longtime member of BIO’s Board of Directors and a driving force in the biotechnology industry. 

“I greatly appreciated Frank’s insight and dedication to the success of the industry and to the patients who benefit from biopharmaceutical therapies.

“We extend our sympathies to Frank’s family as well as his colleagues at Cephalon.”
