WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wednesday, April 16, 2008) - The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announced today its selection of Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) as Legislator of the Year for 2007-2008.  Senator Feinstein received the award during the BIO Legislative Day Fly-In on April 16, 2008.
“Senator Feinstein is a strong and visionary advocate for the promise that biotechnology offers and our position as its global leader.  She has been a reasoned voice during the ongoing patent reform dialogue and continues to ensure that biotech is poised for success,” said BIO President and CEO Jim Greenwood. “We salute her for supporting public policy that enables our industry to pursue its full potential.”

During the BIO Legislative Day Fly-In, more than 200 biotechnology industry representatives from 36 states, including California, will participate in hundreds of meetings with key Members of the House and Senate.
