Database of Marine Natural Products
The IES Marine Biotechnology interest group is comprised of educational institutions, research organizations, and private companies. The interest group is currently working on a database that organizes information regarding available marine specimens, products, and collections. This database provides a place for those in academia and the private sector to share information regarding their available collections with other biotech companies and researchers. It also enables interested parties with a useful reference point to see specimen and product availability without the hassle of sifting through publications. In summary, the goal of this project is to provide the marine biotechnology space with a tool to share information regarding available collections and specimens with the goal of promoting collaboration within the growing marine biotechnology industry.
