Progress in Commercializing Advanced Biofuels and Renewable Chemicals

September 24, 2013
The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) yesterday announced breakout sessions for the upcoming 2013 Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy.  Breakout session tracks are designed to showcase state-of-the-art advancements in the world of industrial biotech.  Attendees will have exclusive access to presentations from some of the most innovative companies in bioenergy and biobased chemicals including, Gevo, Inc., POET-DSM, Cool Planet Biofuels, and Abengoa Bioenergy US Holding, Inc.

Brent Erickson, Executive Vice President of BIO’s Industrial & Environmental Section, highlighted why this year’s breakout sessions will be so exceptional, “This year’s Pacific Rim Summit will feature sessions with companies that are making rapid progress toward large-scale production of biofuels and renewable chemicals. And it will set the stage for the BIO International Convention, the global event for biotechnology, to be held in San Diego in 2014.”
