2022 BIO International Convention Health and Safety Protocols

Updated as of June 28, 2022

BIO 2022 concluded a successful week of activities over a week ago, and we want to thank you and all our attendees for helping foster a safe and healthy environment while attending the event. As a leader in the biotech field, we want to continue to promote COVID-19 health and safety protocols beyond the walls of the San Diego Convention Center.

Please continue to follow CDC guidelines if you reside inside the U.S., and if you are outside of the United States, please follow country-specific COVID-19 guidelines. BIO has used its best efforts to keep any personal information related to COVID-19 confidential, and any reported cases to BIO are not stored by BIO.

As an update on the convention and the possible incidence of COVID-19 related to the event, only an extremely small percentage of positive cases have been reported. Please reach out to eventsafety@bio.org if you attended the convention and received a positive test result in close proximity to the event.

BIO is committed to your safety. Here is what you can expect:

Badge Pick-up Process:

All attendees should stop at the health and safety desk prior to picking up conference badges. Be prepared to show your government-issued identification and the following:

  1. Proof of vaccination. Please see the below vaccination requirement for domestic and international attendees.

    • Prior to arriving on-site, please upload your vaccination record to the Safe Expo Portal.

    • An antigen test taken within one (1) day of badge pickup, OR a PCR test taken within two (2) days of badge pickup.

    • For your convenience, testing on-site is available for an additional fee. Find details, including scheduling a test prior to your departure, here.

Once you have completed the health and safety screening onsite, you will receive your “Go-Card.” To pick up your badge, present your “Go-Card” at the Registration Desk. Click here for Registration Desk hours.
